CourseSight Links with CSCS in System Update
The CourseSight team is pleased to announce the launch of our latest competence management initiative for the construction industry. Having been the smart technology provider for the CSCS card for more than 10 years, Reference Point has just released an exciting and innovative new feature, which should be of great interest to anyone operating in construction.
From September onwards when booking onto courses via the CourseSight Training Marketplace, delegates’ CSCS numbers can be entered (and are automatically integrity checked). As soon as the delegate’s learning outcome is recorded on CourseSight, the information about their new qualification can be surfaced when scanning the worker’s CSCS card using the free Go Smart card checking apps and the Go Smart online card checker. This process is immediate upon achievement, so the worker can start evidencing and utilising their new qualification or recertification straightaway.
Go Smart is developed for CSCS and powered by Reference Point. You can download the Go Smart apps here.
So how does it work?
1. Input CSCS Number
When signing up to a course via CourseSight, for certain courses there will be an option to enter the delegate’s CSCS number.
2. Training Provider Confirms Completion
Once the course has been attended and qualification achieved, the Training Provider will record this in CourseSight.
3. CSCS Card Check Using Go smart
Once the training provider has entered the outcome of the course, this information will be automatically and seamlessly available via the Go Smart card reader apps when the delegate’s card is checked, as shown.
What is Go Smart?
For those who are unfamiliar with Go Smart, it is the Construction Industry App for reading and checking physical and virtual CSCS smartcards.
The new upgrade adds valuable new information to card checks using Go Smart. Now that CourseSight courses are displayed on the app, people checking cards have access to a wealth of additional training information about the cardholder, with cardholders’ information updated seamlessly as new qualifications are completed.
Benefits of the new system:
Significantly Reduce Administration Time
When a course has been completed and Training Providers have marked the learning outcome as achieved, this information will instantly pass to the delegate’s CSCS card when read using the Go Smart app saving the need for the cardholder to carry additional certificates and “tickets” around.
Instant Information Update
Cards are updated with new qualifications automatically and are immediately visible to contractors.
For contractors, all training information about a cardholder can be accessed through one app, including the clear flagging of upcoming expiries.
This updated feature is available for immediate use. Make the most of this enhanced functionality and start booking courses with participating training providers now.
We hope you love these new features as much as we do. Get in touch to discuss participation in this feature at firstname.lastname@example.org.
